My Auntie ????

Created by Nicola 3 years ago

My Auntie Modesta was the best auntie you could wish for. When my nan died when I was 7 months old, I was told how Modesta quickly stepped up and made sure I was cared for and loved. My mum always tells me how much she adored me as a baby and that she even brought me a cot for her house as it was the only thing I would sleep in.
I have very fond memories going to stay with both Ted and Modesta, occasionally on my own. Modesta brought me my first cassette tape, Rhythm is a dancer. I must have played it over and over throughout the rest of my stay....... I will always think of you when I hear this song.
During another stay, Modesta took me to Toys R Us. I was allowed a candle making set, I think it destroyed a few of her pots but we had so much fun together and she didn’t seem to care.
I absolutely love Modestas Spanish omelettes, and when I was younger at every visit an omelette would be made especially for me! In fact one was send back to Kent if ever I wasn’t there.... ! One day, you taught me how to make them, mine are not a touch on yours but it will always remain one of my favourites, something Erin now loves.
Auntie Modesta thought the world of my children, Lewis and Erin as they did her. She would love seeing them and often enjoyed watching them in the swimming pool. She always praised them and in her eyes they could do no wrong. They will miss you greatly, I will always talk to them about you.
I will miss your hugs and feeling your soft cheeks as I give you a kiss. I will miss your text messages, Facebook comments, phone calls and hearing I love you at the end. I will miss and love you forever.
Thank you for being the best auntie, for your time, kindness, patience, care , laughs and love.
